Introducing Brightsider, a fresh project driven by soul, RnB, groove and sunshine from the South Western tip of Australia.
Dense keys and dry drums, funky bass lines and soulful vocals; Brightsider slides into the pocket where Winston Surfshirt, Matt Corby, Jamiroquai and Free Nationals meet.
Produced in frontman Dan White's Margaret River home studio and finished off at Real2Reel Studios with James Newhouse, the first batch of tunes to drop push the envelope while keeping it tight, light and vibey, featuring the four-piece band Chris Musitano (keys, horns), Wayan Biliondana (bass & vocals) & Ziggy Atwell (drums & vocals).
After a huge project launch in February 2021 which received plenty of positive press, including glowing reviews from The Music and Around The Sound, who said the group’s debut single was “Instantly memorable (and) a must have for the soundtrack to summer 2021” and taking the band from zero to 1.5k monthly listeners, the South West groovers are exploring a new sound with their fourth single “Can We Make It?”, out May 7.
Lighting up stages around Western Australia with visits to Perth, Denmark, Margs and beyond, Brightsider are a must see new act on the WA music scene, and with a fresh track set for release the first Friday of every month through 2021 there's plenty of opportunity to get familiar with the bright side.
