Bringing their own brand of fun & funk to the masses, Brightsider is warbling wurli and funky drums, slinky bass lines and soulful vocals sliding into the pocket where Winston Surfshirt, Matt Corby and Jamiroquai meet.

A project ft. Dan White (of former band and WA’s Best Regional Act 2019, Blue Child Collective, & director of The WA Guitar Festival), Chris Musitano (Brass Party), Wayan Biliondana (Psychedelic Porn Crumpets) & Ziggy Atwell (the man!), Brightsider's upbeat smoothie of Indie RnB, Funk-Soul-Groove and South-West sunshine is a must-see, certain to leave a smile on your face!

Produced in Dan’s Margaret River home studio and polished up with James Newhouse at Lamb Chop in Gelorup, WA, the group punched out half a dozen singles in their first year, the first of which was covered by Perth indie-folk lord Michael Dunstan on RTR’s “Slightly Odway” and dubbed “a must have for the soundtrack to summer” by Around The Sound.

The group’s latest track, The Hunger, released Nov 2024, explores the concept of humanity’s innate desire for more – whatever that might look like to the individual - and whether it can be a catalyst driving positive change in our lives as opposed to a vice.

A collaboration with Pemberton-based RnB artist Lemon Myrtle, who appears on feature vocals on the track, The Hunger is the first of a string of singles from the group’s upcoming EP set for release in Autumn 2025.

With plenty of fun on the horizon, including appearances at Nannup Music Festival 2025 and a run of WA shows to support their new record, why wouldn’t you be looking on the brightside?
